CAN I INVITE FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO MY ULTRASOUND?

Yes, we encourage your family and friends to share this experience at Sweetface Scans. Currently Five (5) guests are allowed to come with the mom-to-be. This includes children of any age with supervision while guests are being imaged.

WHAT IS A ELECTIVE ULTRASOUND?  WHAT IS A DIAGNOSTIC ULTRASOUND?

This is an ultrasound that is not ordered by your OB/GYN. Sweetface Scans offers elective 2D, 3D, 4D and 5D(HD LIVE) prenatal ultrasounds to provide a bonding experience for the mothers to be and her loved ones. 

A diagnostic prenatal ultrasound is ordered by your OB/GYN.  It is compiled of a series of three or more ultrasound of the baby.

WHAT IS ULTRASOUND?

Ultrasound is a non-invasive, and painless exam that produces pictures of the inside of the body using sound waves. Ultrasound images are captured in real-time, so they are able to show the structure and movement of the body's internal organs.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, involves the use of a transducer and ultrasound gel that gets placed directly on the skin. Sound waves are transmitted from the transducer, through the gel, and into the body. The transducer collects the sound waves that bounced back to the transducer and a computer then uses those sound waves to generate an image on the monitor. There is no ionizing radiation involved.

IS IT SAFE?

Ultrasound does not use ionizing radiation, so there is no radiation exposure to the patient or baby. Over 30 years of extensive studies have proven that ultrasound does not cause any harm to the mother or baby.

DOES THIS TAKE THE PLACE OF AN ULTRASOUND AT MY DOCTOR'S OFFICE?

Our services are elective and will not take the place of the ultrasounds given by your OB/GYN doctor. Women seeking an elective prenatal ultrasound with Sweetface Scans must already be receiving treatment with a OB/GYN for prenatal care and may only rely on a medical, diagnostic ultrasound ordered by their provider to confirm their due date, screen for fetal anomalies, and to look for any other pregnancy related issues. Please understand, at no time will this exam replace a complete diagnostic ultrasound. Our purpose is to create a bonding moment for the mother and loved ones and to help provide life lasting memories.

HOW FAR ALONG SHOULD I BE FOR A 3D ULTRASOUND?

We are able to do 2D scanning as early as 6-40 weeks! For 3D/4D/HD Live imaging we recommend weeks 28-34* for optimal high quality image, but you are welcome to come at anytime during your pregnancy.

ARE YOU ABLE TO TELL THE SEX OF THE BABY?

Yes, in most cases, as early as 16 weeks with ultrasound, we can provide an indication of the sex of the baby. However, we can’t guarantee that the baby will cooperate during your session. Certain factors such as body tissue content, developmental stage and fetal position all affect the ability to determine sex.

If you’re 16 weeks or further, and we are unable to obtain the gender of the baby, I will schedule a complementary Sweet Scan within 7days, of your family schedule appointment.

We do offer SneakPeek Gender DNA services starting at 6 weeks and is 99.9% accurate.

WILL I ALWAYS GET A PERFECT IMAGE OF MY BABY?

Sometimes if the baby is looking face down or sleeping during the ultrasound it may be difficult to see the baby’s face. Every baby scans differently, depending on its gestational age, position, amount of fluid, and mother’s condition. At Sweetface Scans we will always make every effort to obtain the best possible images. Full face images are not guaranteed.

IS THE 3D/4D/HD LIVE ULTRASOUND COVERED BY INSURANCE?

No, Since 3D/4D/HD LIVE is an elective service and is not intended to be a replacement for your doctor ordered ultrasound, insurance does not cover any of the cost. We accept:

CASH, VISA, MASTERCARD, APPLE PAY, CASH APP, DEBIT CARDS, AND AFTERPAY (AFTERPAY CAN BE USED FOR A PURCHASE OF $150 OR MORE.)

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate! For the best pictures, drink 32-48 ounces of water (a day) for at least 3-5 days leading up to your ultrasound. Other beverages do not count! Also eat 30 minutes before your appointment. The best results are obtained when the baby has enough amnotic fluid and when baby is in a good position.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN 2D/3D/4D/5D ( HD LIVE)?

A 2D image provides a flat, two dimensional, black and white image of your baby.

A 3D ultrasound will capture an advanced three-dimensional image allowing you to clearly see the well-defined structures of the baby.

A 4D which allows you to actually watch movements of the baby in a three-dimensional image. This image normally has a peachy/ orange tint.

HD Live/5D- 5D is exciting new technology that allows you to see your baby in a realistic view. This image will show the baby skin as a reddish/pinkish color.

WILL I GET MY PACKAGE MATERIAL THE SAME DAY?

All material should be available to give to you the same day. If there is an item that is not available we will arrange to get it to you as soon as possible. You will know ahead of time if an item is not available. 8K Enhancement Photos will take 3-5 business days. Hyper realistic will take up to 11 business days.

WHAT IF THE GENDER OF THE BABY IS NOT DETERMINED AT MY VISIT? CAN I HAVE A RESCAN AT NO COST?

If the gender is not determined in your initial visit we will offer your a compliment rescan (Sweet Scan). Yes, we will offer (one) 10 minute Sweet Scan within 7 days of your initial appointment, at no additional cost. This will only include the gender. You can purchase images and or additional time at an additional cost.
